Case Study - A Calm, Connected Companion for the Motherhood Journey

We built Maternity, a platform that pairs evidence-based courses with a private community and day-to-day tracking, so moms feel supported from pregnancy through the early years.

Overview

New mothers are handed an overwhelming amount of advice and almost no trusted place to put it. Information lives in a dozen apps, in late-night searches, and in group chats that move too fast. We saw an opportunity to bring it all together by incubating Maternity, a calm, connected companion for the motherhood journey.

As a company builder, Everseed handled the entire lifecycle of Maternity, from early research with real moms to the brand, the product, and the platform that runs it. Our goal was simple: give mothers one place they can trust through pregnancy and the early years.

The Challenge

Motherhood content is everywhere, but trust is scarce. Moms told us they were tired of contradictory advice, of feeling judged, and of juggling separate tools for tracking, learning, and connecting with other parents.

We faced a clear product challenge: How do we combine credible guidance, a supportive community, and everyday tracking into one experience that feels personal rather than clinical? It had to be warm enough to return to daily and rigorous enough to be trustworthy.

Our Process

1. Research & Validation

We started by listening. Built around Paula's research into what moms actually need, we ran a structured survey and conversations with mothers to map the real moments of stress, joy, and uncertainty, then turned those findings into product priorities.

2. Design & Brand

We crafted a distinctive identity, anchored by the kangaroo wordmark, and a soft, reassuring visual language. The design deliberately avoids the sterile, clinical look common in health apps in favor of something that feels like a knowledgeable friend.

3. Engineering the Platform

We built Maternity as a monorepo serving three surfaces from one backend: a public marketing site, an internal admin dashboard for the team, and a member app delivering courses, community, and daily tracking for feeding, sleep, vaccines, milestones, and more.

Architecture & Tech Stack

We built Maternity on a modern, scalable foundation designed to grow with the product:

  • Framework: Next.js 15 and React 19 with Tailwind CSS 4 and Framer Motion for a fast, fluid, beautifully animated experience.
  • Backend: Supabase provides authentication, Postgres, storage, and row-level security across every surface from a single source of truth.
  • Monorepo: Turborepo orchestrates the marketing, admin, and member apps with shared db, auth, and ui packages.
  • Delivery: Deployed on Vercel, with the member app structured for a Capacitor mobile wrap so it can ship to the app stores without dragging marketing code along.

The Impact

Maternity shows how Everseed takes a venture from a research insight all the way to a living product. By unifying guidance, community, and tracking into one caring experience, we replaced a scattered set of tools with a single place moms can rely on.
